Blue Peter Dinghy - Sanding the bottom

The bottom of the hull a has already had a treatment of Y10 and came up really nicely, but, having compared with the sanded top, the bottom is definitely still yellowed. Given there are a number of repairs to do here, it makes most sense to sand it all down to a single colour across the boat.

I've done one half this morning using a powered vibrating sander. It sure beats doing it by hand, but it's noisy! Because the sander is flat, it is showing up any minute dent impressions in the hull shape, so I'll likely fill these if there's sufficient gel-coat.

In the following images, I've only sanded the starboard half of the boat. As you can see, the change is incredibly subtle! The camera really doesn't show the difference as well as the naked eye in sunlight for some reason.
